KS Cracovia (Pol) vs Shakhtyor Soligorsk (Bel)

It was our first visit to Poland and we ended up saying that it was one of our best trips so far! Seminar Day 1

This year’s seminar was opened by the President of the Malta Football Association, Dr.Joe Mifsud, who spoke at length about the efforts being made by the Referees Board to improve refereeing in Malta. He spoke about the measures taken to improve training methods and facilities and the coordination of every sector connected to referees. Dr.Mifsud also reminded referees about the golden rule that they are never to bet on local matches. In fact they should not even bet on foreign matches as a referee should be neutral, honest and dedicated to the game and so must always be above suspicion.

Later Mr.Jaap Uilenberg, UEFA Referees Committee member from Holland showed some incidents which happened in Euro 2008. These included clips on elbowing, dissent, mass confrontation and a player asking the referee to show a yellow card to an opponent.
