Local referees’ physical trainer Mr. Euchar Grech will be relinquishing his post in mid May after twelve years of sterling service. Way back in 1998, the Malta FA Referees’ Board deemed it appropriate to engage a fitness coach to ensure that all of its officials are physically well prepared to meet the demands of the modern game

Maltese referees in the 'Referee Cup 2009' in Germany

A group of sixteen referees will be travelling to Lueneburg in Germany between the 18th and 22nd June 2009 in order to participate in a football tournament open for referees coming from different countries all over Europe. Amongst the participants there are Austria, Finland, Holland, Luxembourg and several teams coming from different cities in Germany. This tournament started way back in 1985 and its last edition was held in 2003..........(more)

Maltese Referees in Demand

The selection of Esther Farrugia to join the UEFA Women’s Talents Scheme is a big boost for Esther herself and for Maltese football in general. This scheme is for those women international referees who have proved themselves in matches they have been given and have shown promise and are prepared to develop their skills further. Esther will also be officiating in the Under 19 Women’s tournament in Portugal and will fly to Nyon in Switzerland for the first meeting of the Talents directly from Portugal...... (more)
