Malta has two new FIFA officials. Marco Borg as a referee and Edward Spiteri as an assistant referee were accepted by the FIFA Referees Committee to start receiving international appointments as from next January 1.  These two officials were nominated by the Malta Football Association Referees Board after very creditable performances over the years. They were well and truly groomed to be ready for their new important assignments which will come their way in the coming seasons.

Marco and Edward are both known as fitness fanatics and are regulars at the thrice weekly training sessions organized by the Referees Board under the MFA scheme for top referees and assistants. Besides they do a lot of personal training including gym attendance.

Marco and Edward will be proud to put on that very special badge in a couple of weeks when they will then officially become members of a world elite group especially chosen to control football matches.
