Who or what made you interested in starting a refereeing career?
I first tried my hand at playing football but I soon realized I was not good enough yet I wanted to remain in football so it seemed natural that I took up refereeing. I do not regret it.

When did you become a referee?
In September 1990

Which was your first game?
Assistant Referee in an ISA match

Which was your first game as a Referee?
Under 14 match between Hamrun Spartans and Floriana

What where your memorable matches?
I was first an international assistant referee and as such these were my most memorable matches:

International Matches ‘A’;        Germany vs Romania
                                           Wales vs Belarus

FA Trophy Final;                      Sliema vs B’Kara (Assistant Referee)

As a referee there is no doubt that the FA Trophy Final between B’Kara vs Msida  is a match I will never forget.

Another very important match I controlled was the Relegation Decider between Hamrun Spartans and Marsa. Another international appointment I will always remember  is the Regions Cup Tournament in Holland as Referee

What are your future expectations?
I take it day by day

Whould you encourage others to become a referees?
Certainly but they must take matters seriously from day One. They must be honest and must be totally dedicated to football.

How do you prepare yourself before a match?
Be in good shape, both physically and mentally

What about you family reactions?
My wife Claudine has always been very supportive
