The B.V.M help for the Catholic

This Church is the ownership of the Cachia Zammit family. It is the only church in Malta holding this title. This church was built in 1830 by Dr. Matteo Cachia from Hal-Ghaxaq. It was built with the approval of the bishop for the comfort of the villagers and fishermen. This church is connected to a house called Merhba bik situated in the same locality of Saint George.


The Church of Saint George

In the past, this church made part of Zejtun. This church reminds us, when in older times, the Turkish embarked in Malta. The entrance to this chapel is on the other side of the road, where once there was a pond. This pond was used during attacks from outsiders, the maltese would cut off communication by lifting the pond.


Saint Joseph Chapel

In Birzebbuga one can find a chapel dedicated to Saint Joseph. It is situated in a private house near the AL FRESCO restaurant. It is easily seen from the outside because of its placement in the heart of the surrounding buildings. Attached to the door, one could find a writing giving an indulgence of forty days to whoever says the prayers of Pater, Ave and Gloria in front the statue of Saint Joseph inside this chapel.


Lady of Sorrow Church (the old parish)

This church was built during the 1912 and in those days it costed around hundred Malta liri. Before this church was built, this place was once used as one big storage area. This church continued to serve as parish church until the 17th June 1937 when the newly build church named for our patron Saint Peter was named as parish church. This church has got only one altar and nowadays it is used from the M.E.U.S.E.U.M society of Birzebbuga.

The Conception Chapel

This Church is situated in Binghisa. The first stone was built in 1822 by Fr. Gakbu Gauci a person from Zurrieq. This Church was rebuilt and enlarged in 1861/62. This Church has got only one altar exactly in its middle.
